The Minnesota Board of Accountancy (boa.state.mn.us) states: 'All Active and Inactive CPAs (and firms) must renew yearly by December 31 every year' and 'There is no grace period for unlicensed practice/holding out. All licenses and permits expire on December 31.' CPE operates on a separate July 1-June 30 reporting year (20 hrs/year minimum, 120 hrs/rolling 3-year period incl. 8 ethics hours); CPE for the year ending June 30 must be reported to the Board by December 31 of that same year, ahead of the license renewal.
